I Haz a Bronze Drake
There is a new Caverns of Time instance with the release of Wrath of the Lich King. The “Culling of Stratholme” shows the events which take place during Warcraft III, when Prince Arthas (while still a Paladin) deals with the town of Stratholme being infected with the plague. This is my favorite instance so far, probably due to me being a big Warcraft III fan.
On Heroic Mode, there is an extra boss called the Infinite Corruptor, and if you defeat him, he has a 100% chance to drop the [Reins of the Bronze Drake]. The only problem is, you have 25 minutes to reach him AND kill him. Even if you get to him before 25 minutes, if you don’t kill him by the 25 minute mark, he will still escape through his portal.
Think of this as the “Bear run” of Wrath of the Lich King. I was able to accomplish this with a group of friends, and the winner is me! Now just have to run this everyday until everyone has one. This won’t be a problem at all since this is a very fun instance, and the fact that everyone still needs a ton of [Emblem of Heroism]. I can now scratch this off my list of “Rare Mounts to get from Stratholme”. Only one mount left… (damn you Baron!)
One thing I like about this mount, is that it isn’t a big mount. At first when I got my Netherdrake mount from the Netherwing faction, I was excited. Two days later, I went back to using my Gryphon Mount because that Netherdrake was taking up my entire screen while I was flying. The Bronze Drake is a nice medium size mount which doesn’t take up too much screen. I can see myself going back to my Headless Horseman mount in a few weeks though.
