Spicytuna 3.0 – Implementation

The Design Phase is done, now it is time for the Implementation Phase. I have to bring over the new design and make it so that there is a smooth transition over to the new layout.

During this time, you will start seeing most of the items in the Side Bars being modified or taken away. Categories will be totally re-worked. There will be less Main Categories, and slightly more Sub-categories. My Blog Rolls will be moved, and made into a separate page altogether.

I also need to go back through all the old posts (a little over 200) and re-size any images that are too big, and redo all the Categories and Tags. This will probably be the biggest pain in the butt. I also have to go through and make sure each post has its own individual thumbnail (or at least all the recent ones).

I also made some new RSS Feed buttons, to make it more visible for readers, in case they would like to add me to their feed readers. One for the main front page, and one for each of the different themes I have set up.

I’ll be in Virginia all this weekend, so I won’t have much time to work on it then. Hopefully when I get back, there won’t be much left for me to work on, and I can get the new layout out the first week of September.

I agree. It look really nice. :)

Your new site looks awesome, but I still think the top graphical area is a little big. It results in almost half the browser window being taken up with top elements before one gets to the real meat of the blog.

Can’t wait to see it fully implemented. :)

    @ Muckbeast

I know what you mean, the whole top section is kinda big and takes up a lot of space, but I’m trying to make it so that you might not need to go further than the top banner. All the essentials are at the top (featured post, last couple of posts, and the posts in the carousel) and the bottom half is just for “browsing”. Well that is what I am trying to go for anyways. I will still be making changes every now and then, and hopefully nobody will have any big problems with the new layout.

Thank you though, and everyone else, for the feedback over the past few weeks.

You will most likely see broken images and stuff being move around. That’s just me trying to carry everything over to the main site.
