If you have been on the Public Test Realms, you may have noticed something going on in Stormwind. If you head on over to the Canals (between the Park and the Cathedral), you will see a small group of construction workers making some racket. What could they be doing? Preparing to build the new Stormwind Harbor of course!
Hmm… only 8 workers. WotLK won’t be here for a long long time!
This might be the reason for some of the glitches in the graphics you may be seeing during the Midsummer Festival while you are running around in the area. Who knows?
In the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, there will be a new addition to Stormwind, which will provide transportation for players to travel to Northrend. It will also provide players in Darnasus a boat ride directly to the Stormwind Harbor. No more taking the boat to Wetlands and corpse running your way to Ironforge for newbie NE players!

The new Stormwind Harbor looks really big. It looked like it could be 2/3 the size of Stormwind City itself! I see myself jumping down and slowfalling towards those boats a lot in the future. Time to stock up on Light Feathers!
I wonder if they will be making any changes to any other capitals or how Horde will get to the Northrend. Maybe one of their cities are getting a harbor too? Or maybe a Zepplin airbase!

That’s going to be strange! I guess I didn’t realize that SW was THAT close to the Great Sea. So long, farewell to the old days of dying in Wetlands every two steps as a Night Elf. LOL!

I’m so excited for wrath.. but at the same time i’m horrified.
My server (except for transfers) has 4 guilds in bt/hyjal. Alliance side is stuck on archi. No alliance is getting past 3rd boss in bt.
I want to do 25mans again.. but right now I dont see thta happening :/
Hmmm, every time I read something re: alliance, it makes me miss my ally toons that I haven’t played in 6 months (70 prot warrior, 57 1/2 BM Hunter, 43 frost mage). I think I may have to reintroduce myself to them before WotLK just because I’d like to see both perspectives on things.
On to the topic, though…NO FAIR…the alliance would be able to basically “city jump” to every major city without leaving the safety of their homes?! Okay, I guess technically running to TB from Durotar never flags you (on PvP), but you still have to run there, hehe. Okay, I assume the horde will have a zeppelin to Northrend because there is no capital city that could have a harbor, unless they somehow “extended” Durotar a bit. Maybe they could do something at Grom’Gol?
In regards to what horde might get, I’ve heard there are new Zep towers built or maybe just adjusted from one of the alpha sites.
Doesn’t sound like we’ll get quite the make over that Stormwind is receiving though.
