Eredar Twins: Double your Pleasure

Double your fun. We finally managed to get the Eredar Twins down on Sunday night after three “official” attempts (one was because someone fell off the ledge and agro’d them by accident).

We killed them in “Reverse Order“, which yielded us one extra piece of epic loot, plus four sunmotes. w00t!

The strategy we used to kill them in reverse actually made the fight a little bit easier, but puts more emphasis on individual effort (one person messes up = auto wipe). It involves us killing Lady Sacrolash first, then Grand Warlock Alythesis.

During Phase 1, we have all Ranged DPS and Raid Healers standing all up on top of the ledge looking down on the twins. Everyone is right on top of one another, while our two main tanks for Sacrolash, and our Warlock tank for Alythesis, Melee DPS, and Tank Healers are at the bottom.

During this phase, Alythesis will randomly target a raid member with Conflagration. That person MUST run to a safe spot away from the raid in three seconds, or it is a wipe. That is the hardest part. We wiped numerous times just getting this part right. Mostly due to latency and people in the guild who are from Australia with 600 ping normally, who get the warning, but due to latency, will be a second too late, and won’t be able to make it out of the raid in time.

Other than that, it is pretty much DPS her down, and make sure you are below the two tank’s threat on Omen. When she dies, everyone jumps down all to one spot for Phase 2, and blow every cooldown you have and go nuts on Alythesis. No more moving, no more jumping, just straight DPS. That is the entire fight…

Sounds easy? It is. Easy to mess up? Very.

After weeks and weeks of wiping to these twins, we are handsomely rewarded with lots of loot. Here is what we got for our very first Eredar Twins kill:

* turned with a sunmote for: [Shoulderpads of Knowledge's Pursuit]

A nice bounty of loot indeed. I didn’t go for shoulders since I will be waiting for the [Amice of the Convoker] which also drops from the Eredar Twins. I didn’t go home empty handed however.

The higher ups in the guild decided to auction off three sets of [Sunmote] to the raid (using DKP of course). One set = enough sumotes to craft one piece of gear. I was able to win my second set of sunmotes, and will be crafting my [Sunfire Handwraps] very soon.

Problem is, mats = ouch. 10 x [Spellcloth], 10 x [Shadowcloth]. Anyone on Ner’zhul selling any for cheap? PST! :P
