@Bobyboucher

I myself haven't seen any difference on my level 70 Mage that I copied over, when I had 126 Spell Hit Rating and was doing Heroics. But it might have just been good luck with hits/miss. I think when the pre-patch hits, we're going to need 164 once again, but by that time, the new raid stacking mechanics are going to be in place, and you will still not need 164 with how raid buffs will be applied. S.Priest's Misery will give you +3% Hit, Shaman's Totem of Wrath will give you +3% Hit, etc...

As for WotLK, as you level up, it will take more Spell hit rating to reach the cap. For instance, at level 70, 1% Spell Hit = 12.62 Spell Hit Rating. At level 80, 1% Spell Hit = 26.23 Spell Hit Rating. So we're going to need more than 164 Spell Hit Rating for WotLK.

Current WoW, Frost still has the extra 3%. When Wrath of the Lich King hits, you can probably count on it being fixed.

[...] Playing as the underdog Spec actually made be a better Mage/raider/player. On paper, Fire was about 2-5% higher DPS than Frost- in a perfect simulation. This meant if I had to keep up or beat them, I had to be focused at all times, and learn to take advantage of any tool I can. A good example of this is the Frost “Ghost Hit“.
@Dharama

A lot of Mages think that this Ghost Hit was intended since Blizzard has yet to fix this in any of the patches. As of 2.4.2, this "bug" is still in the game, leading most to think that it is part of the mechanic of the talent.

The only fight that I have used Empowerment Elixir was on Rage Winterchill in Mount Hyjal, which dropped my resist from ~45% to ~25%. Till a high resist rate, but it is better than nothing.

Hi I also play a mage deep frost, ofcourse, but still working on hit gear updates.
I don't see this as a mistake for the Ghost Hit as it is being called. this is also why I use empowerment elixir as it lowers the targets resistance as well...

Thankyou for that site Tuna, Ever since i read your AP Frost Vs. Deep Frost i've been keeping up to date on your blog and that theory crafting site is just plain awesomeness.

As for the deep frost spec I tried out but went back to AP frost, my play style is much more adapted to the AP Frost, just more comfortable with it, although the deep frost I can see how it works out so well.
