Battlegrounds
Battlegrounds! It is one of the ways to enjoy the Player vs Player (PvP) aspects of the game. It allows you to fight other players of the opposing faction. So if you are Alliance, you will be killing Horde, and as Horde, you kill the Alliance. Killing a player of the opposing faction will earn you “Honor Points” in which you can turn in for PvP gear so that you can survive longer, hit harder, and kill faster.
Warsong Gulch (WSG)

Warsong Gulch is a 10 vs 10 battleground system pitting Alliance against the Horde. Basically it is a team capture the flag game with two teams of ten players, and the first team to capture 3 flags first wins the game. Each team has their own base, and inside each base is their own flag. The object of the game is to run across the field into the opposing team’s base, steal their flag, and return it to your own base without getting your own flag taken. Sounds easy right? Yep, and alot of fun too. This is probably my favorite of the four battlegrounds to play.
Arathi Basin (AB)

Arathi Basin is a little bit tougher, and requires more teamwork and coordination. AB is a 15 vs 15 battleground where there is five nodes on the map that you must control. The more nodes you control, the faster your team gets Resource Points. First team to get 2000 Resources wins. A bit more confusing than WSG, but with a well coordinated team, AB will net you alot of Honor Points.
Eye of the Storm (EotS)

Eye of the Storm is another 15 vs 15 battleground for you to play. This is my least favorite battleground. Not really sure why, maybe because it’s the newest or maybe the way it looks, I dunno, I just don’t like it as much as the other three. EotS borrows gameplay elements from both WSG and AB, in which there are four nodes for you to take over, and a flag in the middle of the map for you to capture, both for points for your team. Like AB, the first team to reach 2000 points first wins.
Alterac Valley (AV)

Then there is Alterac Valley… A big map of chaos and death. This battleground puts fourty Alliance and fourty Horde against each other on a huge map. There is even an element of PvE in this battleground. I have mixed feelings about this battleground. Sometimes I like it, then other times I completely hate it. Battles are usually drawn out for hours, or so one-sided that it isn’t even fun (for the losing team) at all. It is the battleground for you if you are bored with time to kill, and if you feel like killing stuff without having to rely on your teammates or using any type of strategy or coordination.
“So much death…” You will never get bored for awhile with four battlegrounds to chose from. You get to kill other players AND you are rewarded with better gear! What is there not to like?
