Mage Traveling Tips
One of the best thing about playing a Mage is convenience. Being able to conjure our own Food and Water gives us little to no down time while leveling or farming, and saves us from using precious bandages.
Another huge convenience for us is the ability teleport to any major city, making us able to travel [...]
Week 7/22 - Recap
World of Warcraft:
It was stormy Sunday afternoon, around 3:00 PM. I restocked my Flasks, Potions, Oils, and farmed for 2 stacks of Basilisk food. I was all ready to kill M’uru/Entropius later that night. Then all of a sudden, internet and cable goes out. Yep, Comcast down! The most notorious boss in all of online [...]
WotLK: New Beta Talent Build
New Talent Build is out for the Wrath of the Lich King beta. Also known as the Build 8681, there are new changes to many Class Talents, including Mages. I found most of the changes from MMO-Champion.com, and you can go there for more information. Here are the Mage changes from the new build:
Arcane
Arcane Subtley [...]
Hpwnwork Assignment #1 - Team B
Continuing our assignment, we now look at the other team, Team B. Team A’s setup and strategy can be read HERE.
Here is another look at the assignment:
Part One:
“For each class involved, pick a spec for them that you think works for the particular makeups.”
Time to work on the bottom team! Here is a look at [...]
Soul Eater - 16
Battle on the Ghost Ship! ~A Hell Inside my Head?~
Episode 16 continues where the last episode left off, Death the Kid vs Chrona and Ragnarok!
Hpwnwork Assignment #1 - Team A
Megan from Out of Mana posted an Arena Assignment for the readers to come up with a spec for all the players, and pretty much explain what each player will be doing given the team makeup and opponent. She gave the assignment a week and a half ago, and just like I would in real [...]
WotLK: Arcane Talents Changed
Looks like Blizzard has already started tweaking the Mage Talents according to the feedback they have received during Alpha and now Beta. So far only the Arcane Tree being changed. We should expect the Fire and Frost Tree to be tuned as well in the future.
New Talents look very nice.
At first glance at the new [...]
Blah! Entropius to 50%
Well now with the recent nerf to M’uru/Entropius encounter in Patch 2.4.3, we have seen Phase 2 of the fight a few times. And still, each and every time the fight goes into Phase 2, I am in awe of how stunning the encounter is, when the room lights up, with particle effects flying everywhere [...]
Frost Mage PvE: High King Maulgar
“High King Maulgar is the lord of the ogres of the Blade’s Edge Mountains of Outland, ruling from within Gruul’s Lair. His council consists of Kiggler the Crazed, Blindeye the Seer, Olm the Summoner and Krosh Firehand.” - wowwiki.com
“The Bladespire clan was once among the weakest ogre clans, lacking the numbers of the Bloodmaul or [...]
A Look Back: Repair Bills
Going through my folder of old screenshots, I found an old screenshot of me repairing my gear in Molten Core. I remember taking the screenshot because, “OMG look how high my repair bill is!”. Looking at it now, I wish my repair bills were that low!
Where does all the gold the repair bot collect go [...]
Week 7/15 - Recap
World of Warcraft:
Public Beta is out and no, I haven’t gotten my beta key yet. It is alright though, as much as I want to test out the new stuff, there are still a lot to accomplish in our current expansion. Still, it would be nice if I were to get one! WTB [Beta Key] [...]
Soul Eater - 15
The Soul Devouring Black Dragon ~Cowardly Liz and Her Pleasant Companions?~
Episode 15, Death the Kid, along with Liz and Patty, travel to a village which had been attacked by a mysterious monster.
Rawr: Direct Upgrades
I found something really useful with using Rawr the other day. Again, Rawr is a stand-alone program for comparing and exploring gear for Bears, Cats, Moonkin, Warlocks, Mages, Retadins, ProtWarriors, and Healadins. I wrote a bit on this program on my Useful Mage Tools post a while back.
What I found was the Direct Upgrades option, [...]
Frost Specs with the WotLK Beta Talents
Now that Alpha is over, and the Beta Phase has just started, I might as well post up the spec I will most likely take. There hasn’t been a change from what I posted with the Alpha Talents, and the Talents released in Beta, so I pretty much kept the same specs.
PvE Raiding Spec - [...]
WTB New Casting Animations
This is something I have been wanting for the longest time. I’ve been playing my Mage now for a good deal of time. I even had the same looking Mage in the World of Warcraft Beta. Ever since level 20 or so, I’ve always wanted some different casting animations. I am sick of seeing the same two [...]
New Upgrade: Amulet of Unfettered Magics
I got a new neck piece last night in the Sunwell Plateau raid. The neck piece that I replaced was the [The Sun King's Talisman] which is a quest reward which starts from turning in the [Verdant Sphere] which Kael’thas drops when you defeat him at Tempest Keep. That neck piece lasted me all of [...]
Week 7/8- Recap
New patch, new security tool, new video game announcements (including a unforeseen one), and new movies coming out soon. I also have a reason to start doing my dailies again! Blah but I don’t feel like it… but I DO need the gold now… we’ll see.
With the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), there will be a [...]
Mage: Evocation Macro
A few people have seen me use Evocation during Battlegrounds after I am oom, or even in Ironforge after conjuring up some food for someone. They would ask:
“Why do you switch weapons for Evocation? They changed it from Spirit base to a % of your total mana!”.
I link them my Evoc weapons and most of the time [...]
More Arena in Week Two
Now that I had enough games for Geldin for the week, time to get Utada some Arena points. Right now she is only in a 2v2 team. Her partner, as you may already know, is a Warlock, and we did a lot better this week. Last week we went 25-25 and ended with a rating [...]
Week 2 of Season 4
I played 10 games the first week on Geldin, in a PMR 3v3 setup. Doomilias was the Rogue, and our friend Carl was playing his Priest. We went 5-5 and ended up with 1505 rating. We blamed competitive nature of the first week of the season, and the fact that last season’s high rating teams [...]
